Le bœuf tartare, also known as le steak tartare, is a traditional, French dish. In French cookery, tartare means that a food is served raw and cut into small pieces.
In this beef recipe, a sauce is prepared by mixing together an egg yolk, mustard, oil, salt, pepper, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onions, chopped parsley, capers and chopped gherkins.
Finally, the sauce is added to a bowl of raw, minced beef. The ingredients are thoroughly mixed together.
Et voilà! Your meal is ready to serve by shaping the mixture like a thick, raw, cold burger on a plate!
