Rôti de Cheval
Le rôti de cheval is a roast dinner comprising of la viande de cheval - horse meat. In France, horse meat is sold in special butcher shops (une boucherie chevaline) and can be eaten just like other meats. It can be eaten as steak, minced, in stews, roast, in burgers, etc.
Prior to roasting, the meat is seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil and herbs, etc
Le rôti de cheval is served with
accompanying vegetables and gravy/juice.
