Buongiorno! Mi chiamano l'Olivo della Strega.
Hello! They call me the Witch's Olive Tree.
Mi troverete in un oliveto nella città di Magliano in Toscana, Italia.
You will find me in an olive grove in the town of Magliano in Tuscany, Italy.
Sono molto anziano, infatti ho più di tremila anni.
I am very old. In fact, I am over three thousand years old.
Ricordo il bellissimo bosco del quale io facevo parte durante il periodo degli etruschi.
I remember the beautiful forest to which I belonged during the time of the Etruscans.
Poi ho conosciuto l'età dell'Impero Romano.
Then, I got to know the time of the Roman Empire.
Avevo già compiuto mille anni quando hanno inaugurato il Colosseo a Roma.
I had already celebrated my one thousandth birthday when they opened the Colosseum in Rome.
Tanti secoli sono passati e ho visto cambiare questo mondo.
So many centuries have passed by and I have seen the world change.
Oggigiorno, il mio tronco sembra un po' brutto ma sono ancora forte.
Nowadays, my trunk seems a little ugly but I am still strong.

Ecco la mia storia......
Here is my story.....
C'era una volta una strega che abitava in questa zona.
Once upon a time, there was a witch who lived in this area.
Ogni venerdì notte, veniva all'oliveto per danzare intorno agli alberi.
Every Friday night, she would come to the olive grove to dance around the trees.
Io ero il suo albero preferito.
I was her favourite tree.
Danzava intorno a me, tirando i miei rami. Per questo motivo, i miei rami sono diventati contorti.
She would dance around me, pulling my branches. For this reason, my branches have become twisted.
Alla fine della danza, la strega si trasformava in un gatto dagli occhi infuocati.
At the end of the dance, the witch would change into a cat with fiery eyes.
Il gatto restava accanto a me tutta la notte, vegliando l'oliveto.
The cat would stay next to me all night, watching over the olive grove.
Non vedo la strega da tanti secoli. Non so se tornerà mai.
I have not seen the witch for so many centuries. I do not know if she will ever return.
Molti visitatori vengono a trovarmi. Forse un giorno verrete a vedermi, anche voi.
Many visitors come to find me. Perhaps one day you will also come to see me.
